Jess specializes in devised, ensemble-based performance practices for theater, dance and performance art. Every project she’s participates in is distinct, bringing artists from diverse backgrounds together to form unique configurations of performance languages and styles, pushing perceived boundaries of  and how performance is made and what it can do.

From NYC, to Prague, to Tangier she has traveled the world engaging fellow practitioners in the possibilities of how dramaturgs can best function during the development process of new work.

You can find her writing on the function of the dramaturg in creative processes here.

Jess is the Literary Manager for One Year Lease Theater Company. She holds both an MA in Performance Studies from NYU and an MFA in Dramaturgy from Columbia University. She has trained with Pig Iron Theater Company and participated in workshops with Elevator Repair Service and Zoukak Theatre
